Overview of the Exhibition Architect Yoshifumi Nakamura has designed a lot of furniture for residential use. The furniture was produced by three furniture craftsmen who Nakamura calls his "right arm". This exhibition is a collaboration exhibition between architects with the heart of furniture craftsmen and furniture craftsmen with the eyes of architects.

LEMMHUTYoshifumi Nakamura (Architect)
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1948. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Architecture. After studying woodwork at the Department of Woodworking at the Tokyo Metropolitan Shinagawa Vocational Training School, he worked as an assistant in furniture design under Junzo Yoshimura. Established in 1981. Since then, he has been involved in life work housing and furniture design.

LEMMHUTKoji Yokoyama (Furniture Manager)
Born in Miyazaki in 1952. Joined Matsumoto folk art Furniture Co., Ltd. and engaged in furniture production as a craftsman. In 1981, it became independent as furniture workshop Kaederinsha. Since 1984, he has been in charge of furniture production designed by Yoshifumi Nakamura. In 1997, he moved his residence and workshop to Omachi City. Utilizing the technology of furniture making, he is also eager to challenge handrails such as spiral staircases.

LEMMHUTTadahiko Okuda (Furniture Manager)
Born in Osaka in 1956. Entered Osaka Municipal Crafts High School Wood Crafts Department and started woodworking. After making flash box furniture at a custom-made furniture store in Osaka and foot furniture (shaker furniture) in Gifu and Hokkaido, he became independent in Azumino Ikeda-cho, Nagano Prefecture in 1990. Last year, he moved his workshop to Sapporo and worked on making custom furniture.

LEMMHUTTomoyuki Kanazawa (Furniture Manager)
Born in Tokyo in 1953. After studying design at the Japan Designer Academy, he joined Matsumoto folk art Furniture Co., Ltd. He learned woodworking lathes by himself, along with seat knitting of chairs by himself. After studying welding and stove production at Matsumoto Technical College, he became independent as a Kanazawa drawing artist in 1990 and started production activities utilizing different techniques of woodworking lathe, seating, and welding. Lives and works in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture.

◆ Skills and Heart Seminar "Architects and Furniture Craftsman Talk behind the scenes of collaboration"
Architects and three furniture craftsmen who have been working together for many years will talk about the possibilities of furniture and future dreams that have been pioneered through collaborative work, with a number of pleasant episodes and hardship stories. You can also see valuable images that convey the state of collaborative production where they exchange opinions seriously.

Milking Stool is a chair for milking made by shakers. From inking materials to hole drilling, leg making, chamfering, assembly, and painting, use woodwork drills, hand saws, planes, wooden files, and gennos to complete your own chair.
