Overview of the Exhibition |
Nanto, Toyama Prefecture, Ichinami is one of Japan's leading wooden carving towns. Numerous wood sculptors line workshops on Yokamachi Street, which runs through the center of the town, and echoes the hammering sound of a chisel in the stone-paved streets.
The "Inami Sculpture" originated in the reconstruction of Zuisenji Temple, which began in 1763 in 1763, and the wooden sculptors who have inherited the tradition of 260 years to date have been reconstructed in HongHikiyama, Hong Kong, Hong Kong, and Hong Kong, a famous temple and shrine architecture in Japan.
The exhibition will include temple sculptures with bold deep sculptures and advanced wood sculpture techniques, elaborate Hikiyama sculptures that decorate gorgeous festival stalls, and delicate Yumi sculptures that have greatly developed into a residential space since the Meiji era. In addition, we will introduce the production process that makes full use of more than 200 chisels and chisels with tools, sketches, videos, etc. that are actually used.
A number of wood sculptures that vividly depict the story of lions, dragons, various flora and fauna, and scenic scenes with outstanding techniques still color the architecture and people's lives in various places.
