He has authored books such as "Architecture of Tea", "Kyo no Machiya", "Chasho and Architecture", and "Sukiya Classic Shusei".

Profile
He studied under Chojiro Senda, the 10th head of Tang. He was involved in the production of Karashi, such as Katsura Imperial Villa and Nijo-jo Castle. After retiring from the head of Tang, he opened a workshop (Honjo paper art) in Yamashina, Kyoto, and became independent. In 2003, he received the Kyoto City Traditional Industrial Technology Achievement Award.

Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1951. After graduating from high school, he took over the post of left government in the family business and studied at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, Faculty of Science and Engineering. After graduation, he trained at Saikyo Kogyo in Tokyo, and after returning home, he constructed mainly the clay walls of tea ceremonies and Sukiya architecture. In 2008, he obtained his Ph.D. from Kyoto Institute of Technology. Professor, Kyoto Institute of Technology.
Main work: Renovation of the Sarumen tea ceremony and Shoin of Nagoya Castle, new guest room of Kyoto State Guest House, renovation of Heian Jogakuin Meijikan, etc.
