The tea ceremony wall, which is thinner than ordinary clay walls, is said to be a secret that is passed down only during some Sakan plasterers positions. The workshop will demonstrate the techniques of painting and inking by skilled Sakan plasterers craftsmen, and will be experienced by the general public.
Shikunkoen, adjacent to the Kitamura Museum in Kyoto, is a tea garden of the former Kitamura House with a view of Higashiyama across the Kamogawa River. The architecture of Sukiya style, completed in 1944, is the work of the late master craftsman of Kyosukiya, Seijiro Kitamura. In 1963, the main building was rebuilt by 58 Yoshida, an architect who is said to have modernized Sukiya architecture independently. Visitors will appreciate Sukiya architecture, where tradition and modernity are in harmony, with commentary by Takashi Imazato, an architect who was involved in the renovation of the main building along with Kitamura Museum staff and 58 Yoshida.

The essence of Sukiya style is that "not in a strange wind, not in quite a bit, as you can see." Sukiya style's general contractor, which is based on its light and elegant appearance, is characterized by the use of logs and bamboo, which are natural materials. The technology has been refined at the general contract of Sukiya and tea rooms, and has matured to be said to be the best of wooden building technology. I will focus on the design of the tokonoma and windows of the tea room.
