At first, a demonstration of inking logs. Write the ink with a vermilion pot on a log with a natural skin.
It seems that the way the log is shown will change depending on the inking. Participants also watched the moment of tension with a strong saliva.

It is a state of inking on a small log. A mold plate is mounted so that it can be easily inked. There was a commentary on core ink, rain water, and falling ink from the ridge, but it may have been a little difficult for those who have no experience at the site.

Next is a woodwork demonstration around the eaves. The roof is assembled using bamboo, a material unique to Sukiya. It seems that it is difficult to arrange bamboos with different thicknesses.

This is a demonstration of Ajiro knitting used for ceilings. It is a traditional technique of knitting it on an arrow feather using a hegg plate (cut plate). After this, the visitors also experienced it.

We also experienced the vine knitting of the base window. Weave it with a soft wisteria soaked in water. When dried, it tightens.

I think you could have enjoyed the skills of Sukiya carpenters who make use of natural materials to create architecture. We were sorry that many people came on the day and it was crowded. Thank you very much to everyone at Yasui Moru Corporation for their cooperation.

In addition, similar demonstrations and hands-on events are "How to make tea ceremony clay walls" and "Let's make postcards with Karagami". Please come here as well. For more information, please visit the following website.
