Overview of the Exhibition |
Chinkin, which engraves patterns on the base of lacquer and rubs gold leaf and gold powder, is one of the traditional decorating techniques of lacquer crafts. Lacquer artist Aiko Ishimoto has established a new method called the colorful Fushishisai Sinking technique, making use of the traditional techniques of sinking gold.
In this exhibition, in addition to exhibiting works such as panel works, objects, and vessels that express scenes such as the Japan Alps using the technique of Fushi lacquer painting, videos that contain production tools and processes will be introduced.
Please enjoy the outstanding skills of Aiko Ishimoto who continues to pursue the hidden potential of lacquer.
