Overview of the Exhibition

The "One-legged Exhibition" is an exhibition where furniture artists active in Hyogo Prefecture announce their new chair "One-leg" every year, and visitors can actually sit and experience those works. Has been held. This time, we will introduce the process of "woods" being reborn as a "chair" as a material, as well as the gestures that cannot be seen after assembly. In addition, as a special project, there are also popular works selected based on the questionnaire conducted in the past nine times. Please enjoy the scent of trees of various tree species and the space full of unique chairs.
※Depending on the situation in COVID-19 infection, you may not be able to test the chair.

Cut the tree with a draw knife
In recent years, "Greenwood Work", which uses hand tools to make tools for living with familiar raw trees, has attracted attention in Japan. This time, using a tool called a drone knife, we will cut out the "round bar", which is the basis of materials such as chairs, from the tree of Mount Rokko in Kobe. This course allows children to learn about the characteristics of wood through the experience of Shaving, such as "sequential" and "reverse eyes".
