Overview of the Exhibition

A variety of townspeople who are involved in the world of historical drama and rakugo. One of the most familiar craftsmen is carpenters. As typified by Rakugo Kuma-san's eight-pan, it's a bit of a little bit, a sudden uproar, or a full of humanity. People called them "carpenters" with familiarity. In this exhibition, we will focus on the statues of craftsmen from Edo to Meiji Taisho when such "carpenters" were active. Introducing the unique world that craftsmen have built up through everyday life such as clothing, food and shelter, and work at work. At the venue, original rakugo (small story: Kobanashi) produced by the museum will be animated and screened.
