Outline of the exhibition Architect Yoshifumi Nakamura has designed a lot of furniture for residential use. The furniture has been produced by three furniture craftsmen who Nakamura calls "my right arm". This exhibition is a collaboration exhibition between architects with the heart of furniture craftsmen and furniture craftsmen with the eyes of architects.

Profile

LEMMHUTYoshifumi Nakamura (architect)
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1948. Graduated from Musashino Art University. After studying woodworking at the Tokyo Metropolitan Shinagawa Vocational Training School Woodworking Department, he worked as an assistant in furniture design under Junzo Yoshimura. 1981 Leming House was established. Since then, it has been devoted to lifework housing design and furniture design.

LEMMHUTKoji Yokoyama (furniture craftsman)
Born in Miyazaki City in 1952. Joined Matsumoto folk art Furniture Co., Ltd. and engaged in furniture production as a craftsman. In 1981, it became independent as a furniture workshop Kaederinsha. Since 1984, he has been in charge of furniture making by Yoshifumi Nakamura. In 1997, he moved his residence and workshop to Omachi City. Utilizing the technology of furniture production, he is also eager to make handrails with curves such as spiral staircases.

LEMMHUTTadahiko Okuda (furniture craftsman)
Born in Osaka in 1956. Entered Osaka Municipal Crafts High School Wood Crafts Department and started woodworking. After making flash box furniture at a bespoke furniture store in Osaka and foot furniture (shaker furniture) in Gifu and Hokkaido, he became independent in Azumino Ikeda-cho, Nagano Prefecture in 1990. Last year, he moved his workshop to Sapporo and worked on the production of custom-made furniture.

LEMMHUTTomoyuki Kanazawa (Furniture craftsman)
Born in Tokyo in 1953. After studying design at the Japan Designer Academy, he joined folk art Matsumoto Furniture Co., Ltd. Learned woodworking lathes by self-taught along with sitting knitting chairs. After learning welding and stove production at Matsumoto Technical College, he became independent as Kanazawa Zuko in 1990 and started production activities utilizing different technologies of woodworking lathe, seat knitting, and welding. Lives and works in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture.

◆ Skills and Mind Seminar "Architects and Furniture Artists Talking Behind the Scenes of Collaboration"
Architects and three furniture craftsmen who have been working together for many years will talk about the possibilities and future dreams of furniture that have been pioneered through collaborative work, with a number of pleasant episodes and hard stories. It is also a valuable video that conveys the state of collaborative production where they exchange opinions seriously.

The Milking Stole is a chair for milking made by Shakers. From inking of materials to drilling of seats, making legs, chamfering, assembling, and painting, use woodwork drills, hand saws, planes, wood filers, and genius to complete your original chair.
