Speaking of Europe, the image of stone architecture is strong, but excellent wooden architecture and its technology are left in various places. In the northern part of West Europe, France and Germany are representative, and Belgium is where the characteristics of both coexist.
In this exhibition, we will introduce a wide range of European wooden architecture and techniques through drawings, models, tools, and videos, focusing on architecture in the Walloon region in southern Belgium, as well as commentary on neighboring areas.

The Walloon district in southern Belgium is a rare area in West Europe where traditional wooden architecture remains. The area is mainly French carpenter technology, but Germany's influence is also seen. Here, I would like to introduce the wooden technology of France-Germany, Belgium, and compare them with wooden technology to explore the differences and commonality of ideas that make use of the nature of Japanese and European trees.
