Information on relocation and renewal of Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum

Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum (Director: Kenzo Akao, 4-18-25 Nakayamatedori, Chuo-ku, Kobe-shi, Hyogo) has decided to relocate near Shin-Kobe Station on the Sanyo Shinkansen and reopen it in October 2014. As a result, the museum will close its current facility on May 18 of the same year and will be closed until its reopening.
Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum opened in Naka-Yamate, Kobe in 1984 as a museum on the theme of carpentry tools, and has been popular with many people for about 30 years through exhibitions in Permanent exhibition, lectures and on-site classes.
With the relocation, the museum will eliminate the aging of its existing facilities, expand the exhibition space, and establish a new workshop. At the same time, the exhibition and event contents will be renewed, and we will take a new step as a museum that matches the times that can be enjoyed by people of a wider range of ages.
Please look forward to the new reborn Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum.
