"Domiya Carpenter's Technique - Toshodaiji Temple's Kondo Doo"

In this exhibition, Toshodaiji Temple Kondo, which is nearly 4 meters tall, is exhibited to help you understand the work of Domiya carpenters who handle huge wood. The doo is located on a pillar and is part of a wooden structure that supports the roof and ceiling, and the model is made in the same size as the actual building under the guidance of Tsunekazu Nishioka ridge beam of Horyuji Temple carpenter . This time, as an opening event, we will specially show how this huge model is assembled by human power alone. It is a great opportunity to see Domiya Carpenter's skills up close, so we would like to invite you to visit us.
※This model will be on display at the entrance hall until December 26 during the exhibition period.
