"Touring the work of Tsunekazu Nishioka ridge master"

Tsunekazu Nishioka ridge leader who said 'There is a demon at Horyu-ji Temple.' We will tour the architecture of Nishioka ridge, famous as the last miyadaiku, together with Nishioka ridge, the only inner apprentice of Nishioka ridge. This is a unique opportunity to hear stories and back stories that can only be heard because Ogawa ridge beams actually worked on site with Nishioka ridge beams. Please join us.

Profile
Born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1947. When I was a high school student, I was impressed by Horyuji Temple that I saw on a school trip, and decided to become a carpenter of Domiya. At the age of 21, he became the only inner disciple of Tsunekazu Nishioka. He served as vice-leader in the reconstruction of Horin-ji Temple three-storied pagoda, Yakushi Teranishi Tower and Kondo. In 1977, he established a temple and shrine building company "Rikikosha" based on his own apprenticeship system. In 2003, he was selected as a 'modern master craftsman'. He was awarded the Medal with Yellow Ribbon in 2009. He has written many books such as "The Heart of Trees <ground>", "Unparalleled Assembling Woods", and "Toryo-Conveying skills and nurturing people".
