3Column: Axe as a symbol

Since ancient times, people have believed God descended to the mountains. For the soma, the mountain is a sanctuary owned by God, and in order to step into it, it was necessary to wear strict obsessions. It is said that when cutting the timber at the Imperial Palace of Ise-jingu Shrine, the axe is sung first in various rituals. Also, at the Suwa Taisha Shrine's pillar festival, it is said that the red-painted god Axe is used when cutting the pillar. Axe and the Axican also have the meaning of cutting off evil spirits. In Buddhism, it is called an axe, and you can see the Bodhisattva statue in hand. In mountaineering asceticism, mountain ascetic hermit is regarded as one of the tools for training in the mountains.
