In July 2024, Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum will celebrate its 40th anniversary.
The museum of carpentry tools, Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum, opened in Naka-Yamate, Kobe in 1984 with the aim of collecting and preserving the disappearing carpentry tools as ethnic heritage and passing them on to future generations through research and exhibitions.
It has been 10 years since it moved to a land related to Takenaka Corporation near Shin-Kobe Station in the fall of 2014, and thanks to you, this year marks the 40th anniversary. During that time, we held regular events such as special exhibitions, lectures, seminars and hands-on classes unique to the museum, and many people from all over the world, from small children to elderly people, as well as from Japan.
Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum will take a new step on the occasion of its 40th anniversary and aim to become a more attractive museum. We look forward to your visit to the museum with various encounters.
