Tokyo Exhibition has been opened. The venue is Gallery A Quad, 1F, Tokyo Main Store, Takenaka Corporation. You will be on your right after entering the entrance. Anyone can enter. At the entrance, there is a display of soil modeling by Sakan plasterers craftsman Ario Kusumi. The earth gate was finished as an opening event on the first day of the opening. The event report has been released separately, so please take a look at it.
The gate is designed to be narrow and low. It is like a tea room entrance (Nijiriguchi) and aims to change visibility. Made with the same blend as the rough wall, it shows a unique expression with cracks.
When you dive down the gate, the earth wall welcomes you. It has a rough expression of soil that has broken down the print. It reproduces the rough soil skin along the coast of Awaji that is cut by waves and stays just before collapse. By changing the skin of the cracked part to each surface, you can feel the richness of the expression of the soil. Around this object, you can see the history and tools of Sakan plasterers Koshi-Tokyo edition, Kyoto masterpieces, Tokyo's mortar and Sakan plasterers. The history is composed of digests for the exhibition, but there are many that were unveiled for the first time, and the contents are repainting the history of Sakan plasterers.
This time, many mortars from the Edo period are on display. Until now, the middle neck-shaped mortar, which was centered on the bearing point, was thought to be after the Meiji era, so many people are surprised at the fact that there was already such a perfection in the Edo era. In particular, the gankin-name water trowel, which was active in the late Edo period, is a must-see (center of the photo).
The 1932 work introduced in a trowel in Tokyo, Kanesada's Fushikiri mortar is also a must-see. Usually, one type of iron is trained and made, but this mortar is made by combining two types of iron with different hardness. This method will also be passed on to the later trowel. It's a unique technology that you can't see anywhere else. The secret of Kanesada, which is said to be "sweet (soft) amateurs are easy to float (characteristic of hard trowel)" is unraveled.
In the following exhibition of Akira Kusumi's mortar, about 500 mortars are introduced along with the wall of Masayuki grass in Sukiya. Using the clay wall alone can be interpreted as a grass construction, but Mr. Kusumi classified it among them, and used the true of the grass, the line of grass, and the form of grass. The concept is displayed in an easy-to-understand manner along with images.
The sample collage is a collage of samples produced so far by Mr. Kuzumi of Sakan plasterers. I am challenging new expressions inspired by paintings drawn in Sakan plasterers. This work is unique to Kusumi, who has learned traditional Japanese techniques such as Kyoto pottery, plaster and Tozo, and covers European plaster sculpture and plaster techniques. I created an exhibition in memory of Shinkichi Enomoto of Tokyo Sakan plasterers. A craftsman loved not only by craftsmen but also by children in the neighborhood. The human image was expressed with the words and tools left behind. We look forward to your visit.
