Japan seen by Philip Wise Becker: carpentry tools, freshly made things, everyday items
Outline of the exhibition
Philip Wise Becker draws casual things in everyday scenery with a unique sensibility. This time, we will exhibit works that he found during his stay in Japan. Various motifs were available, ranging from barrier signs placed on the road for car depots and off-limits, trucks and buildings, Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats, trash cans, everyday tools to carpentry tools. In addition, we have prepared videos to guide you to the atelier in Paris, and we borrow notes from the atelier as well as favorite tools brought back from Japan. Please take a look at the various forms of Japan drawn from the perspective of Wise Becker. ※Following the declaration of a state of emergency announcement by the government, the exhibition will be held until April 25 (Sun).
