Overview of the Exhibition
|
Chocolate, cookies, candies and cakes. The Western confectionery brought from West by Civilization and enlightenment became familiar to the Japanese after 150 years. The success of patissier, a craftsman who makes the Western confectionery, has become a hot topic in recent years, but it is not well known that the tools used for making confectionery have a deep history and charm of modeling.
There are various variations of tools for making Western confectionery depending on the type. Of particular note is the "type" that determines the overall shape of the confectionery. You won't get tired of seeing the beautiful and cute shapes, such as old-fashioned wooden molds carved with historical figures and molds to create beautiful gloss.
In this exhibition, valuable materials centered on molds will be exhibited from collections of confectionery utensils from various parts of Europe collected by the Edelweiss Museum over the years. At the same time, we will also introduce gorgeous confectionery containers elaborated in decoration and the highest craft confectionery "Piece Monte" created by modern patissiers.
Through a number of confectionery tools worthy of being called art, please enjoy the depth of the culture of confectionery making that has firmly rooted in European history.
