Outline of the exhibition

Japan's wood and bamboo crafts, blessed with good materials due to its clear four seasons and moist climate, have developed as a unique Japanese craft that excels technically and artistically. In this exhibition, while inheriting this tradition, we will openly recruit works that match today's life from all over the country, and display 73 selected works, important intangible cultural property holders (living national treasures) and one surviving work in one hall.

Workshop "Broach of parquet"
We make original brooches that make use of the characteristics of the material using famous trees with various colors and textures and raden shining in rainbow colors (such as blue shells). Choose and design materials according to the color tone of your favorite clothes.

Workshop "Confectionery at the bottom of the raft"
Use a tool dedicated to bamboo higo, a raft net with bamboo higo and a tiger bamboo made by yourself, wrap the edge with a skin wisteria, and make a confectionery lay.

"Technology and Mind" Seminar [93] "Enjoyment of wood and bamboo crafts"
Japan has geographical conditions suitable for the growth of trees, blessed with many tree species, and since ancient times we have made crafts that enrich our lives using this wood and bamboo. First, we will learn about the characteristics of each tree species and talk about the charm of wood and bamboo crafts that you want to incorporate into your daily life.
