Outline of the exhibition In Finland, a forest country, trees are indispensable as part of everyday life. Finnish design was born from the harmony of nature, simplicity, simplicity, beauty and functionality in the day-to-day lives of generations. Based in the village of Fiscals, Nikari is a company characterized by its design that utilizes the skills of skilled craftsmen in furniture making, and is said to be a pioneer of modern Finnish culture. The unique idea of blending tradition and innovation attracted many young talents and became the most prominent figure in modern Finnish design. In this exhibition, artists who live and work in Physcals Village and their works will also be exhibited. History of Fiscals, a craft village that grew up with nikari. Let me introduce you to the story.

 Related Events ①Finnish Traditional Musical Instruments Cantere Concert
Cantere, a Finnish folk instrument with an old history that appears in the epic "Karewara". It is a simple stringed instrument with only strings attached to a wooden body, and there are various sizes from 5 string cantele to concert cantele. Please enjoy a gentle sound that can be harmonized with nature.

②Workshop Making children's chairs (2 times in total)
The chairs used in the hall on the first floor of Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum are representative works of Cali Viltannen, the founder of Nikari Corporation, but in consideration of the deformation of trees due to environmental differences, Mr. Nagano made them in Japan. In this workshop, we will produce items for children in this chair.

③"Technique and Mind" Seminar [85] Living with Trees - Furniture in North Europe
Taking advantage of the goodness of wood, a wasteless form composed of lines and surfaces derived from precise calculations has a completed functional beauty that feels artistic. This seminar is talked about by Cali Viltannen, the founder of Nikari, a representative of Scandinavian furniture. I would like to talk about the craftsmen and modern Finnish design gathered in the village of Philskals, where Nikari is home to, from a bird's-eye view of North Europe as a whole.
