Overview of the Exhibition | Japan is proud of its world-class animation culture. How have traditional Japanese architecture been depicted in this context? Many Japanese architectures appear in Studio Ghibli's animated works as a stage for dramas. This exhibition features Japanese architecture that appeared in "My Neighbor Totoro", "Princess Mononoke", and "Spirited Away", from "Ghibli's Three-dimensional Buildings Exhibition", which the main building was involved in as an exhibition cooperation, and is introduced under the supervision of historian Terunobu Fujimori. In addition to releasing production materials (reproduction) such as background paintings, art boards, and art settings related to the buildings that appear in the work, a part of the Kusakabe family residence that appears in "My Neighbor Totoro" is expressed in three dimensions, and the design is based on the source.
