A whetstone indispensable for carpenter Maintaining Tools. At present, artificial whetstones are widespread, but it is said that there is nothing better than the natural finishing whet "Matsudo", which has been mined in the Tamba Mountains centering on Kyoto since ancient times. In addition, since the performance of tools is directly linked to work efficiency, it is said that "tools are not bought and used from tool shops, but are made by carpenters themselves."
In this exhibition, we will introduce about 19 whetstones and about 8 tools for quarrying and processing, focusing on differences depending on the mountain and layer quarrying and brands that change depending on color and pattern.
