On September 21, a mini-lecture, "The Heart of Craftsman Craftsman Who Wants to Make Tiles" was held by Seiichi Yamamoto. We welcomed Mr. Seiichi Yamamoto, who was taken care of at the "Thousand Years Iraki-Thating Ancient Tile-" exhibition and talked about it.
First of all, the history of Japanese tiles. He told me that the technology of tiled roof was introduced from Kudara along with the construction of Asuka-ji Temple in 588, and that shortly after it was introduced, Japan devised an eaves flat roof with a pattern on a flat roof at the eaves. Was.
Next, he talked about the shape and fit of the roof of Nara period, which was based on the repair and restoration of ancient cultural properties.
He explained in an easy-to-understand manner how to prevent onigawara's face from hiding, how to stop the tile without holes, and why the onigawara in the corner building changed from one to two.
In addition, while watching the graphics on the wall of the venue, I was able to hear about the repair of the Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji Temple at Showa University.
It was a valuable story that I could hear only because I was a veteran of 70 years of tiles.
It was about 15 minutes longer than the scheduled time, but many people said, "I wanted to hear more." Thank you very much for your participation.
