Demonstration: Takumi Oki of Korea - Making a Millennium Palace
Date and time: Saturday, September 20 14:00 to 15:30
Venue: Takenaka Corporation Tokyo Main Store 1F
Instructor: Hide Sarutaka
This is a demonstration by a Korean leader who usually has little opportunity to see.
Following the lecture on the previous day, Hideshi Shintaka is Instructor.
First of all, there was a commentary on the representative work of the Shin ridge beam on display at the entrance, a full-size braid model of Sakeninji Daisoshiden. We talked about Akamatsu, which is over 200 years old, used in the braids and designs of Korean architecture, as well as models.
Next is a demonstration. Use the prepared log as a pillar and ink up and down. It is said that inking requires the ability to use timber in the right place to determine the nature of the wood to be handled, to be familiar with the structure of the building, and to be able to grasp the dimensions of the components immediately, so it can be done from a secondary ridge.
The tools used for inking pillars are lowered, ink pot, sumisashi, and T-shaped Ruler.
In the upper part of the pillar, the ink is attached to the Kiguchi to form a pier and a beam, and in the lower part of the pillar is drawn to lighten.
T-shaped Ruler is a Ruler that is not used in Japan, and at each site, the ridge is still making itself according to the dimensions of the pillars. If the diameter of the pillar increases, the T-shaped Ruler also increases. The one used in the demonstration was also newly produced by the ridge to match this member. The visitors were also interested in how to use it.
A similar demonstration is scheduled to be held at the Kobe venue (November 30). For details, please see the event page.
